This is a quick career story of the “The Commander & Chief”
committed old school agent Steven Goodhew, who learnt his
craft from some of the industry’s best.
The PJH Roma Principal & Primac Guru cut his teeth back in the early 80’s at Vet rural for 2 years before transferring to Eidsvold then Dalby and back again to both branches for good measure.
This was all part of Steve’s development as a trainee stocky and the direction he wanted to head. From Dalby Steve transferred to Roma under the guidance of Agent Supremo Jock Mcpherson and auctioneer Mick Barron. Other than a short stint as OIC at Surat, Roma has been Steve’s backyard for the last 30 years.
His wife Sharon (an Eidsvold girl) have built a terrific life for themselves and their three children Laura, Brooke & Cooper out of hard graft. PJH is also franchised with Raine & Horne to offer a national data base for residential & rural sales and Sharon and staff have built up a very enviable rent roll around the Roma district. Steve will tell you he new what he wanted to be at a young age and that was a “DENTIST”…just jokes seeing if you are still with me…a stock agent / auctioneer. This was mainly due to his very proud father Nev (pictured) ex Elders..Toowoomba & Dalby saleyards influence and attending many a cattle sale in his younger day.
“Proud Father and Son Nev and Steve Goodhew”
After some 10 years with Primac Steve left Primac at the Elders takeover & pretty much joined Peter Mouse Holland (ex Watkins & co) at PJH in the stock sales / auctioneer role. He successfully held this position for about 14 years before buying out Peter Holland around 9 years ago. Since then Steve has grown the business significantly by providing outstanding marketing and honest reliable service.Congratulations Steve & Co on your success to date and thanks for the notebook and cuppa……Traditional agency is alive and well at PJH Livestock & Property Roma!
