The demise of the Gympie Pig & Calf Yards – April 2025!
“Many years of memories and stories,(many of them tall) went up in smoke when the old Gympie pig and calf yards offices, canteen and toilet blocks burnt to the ground yesterday.
When I started with Goldsbroughs in the early sixties yardings of around 1500calves and 400 pigs were the norm. They were predominantly the bi-product of the massive dairy industry that existed at that time. As the dairy.
